Magnetic separator

Magnetic separators are used to extract magnetic materials from the volume flow during the run through.

Here one differentiates between several systems:

Overbelt magnets are available as permanent or electromagnets. These elements consist of a belt conveyor with integrated magnet. They are mounted above the volume flow in the conveying direction or transversely to the conveying direction. As a result, they allow the removal of metallic materials in an automatic pass.

Alternatively, there are magnetic drums, which are installed as drive drums in belt conveyors.
In this case, using a so-called breeches chute in the transfer area for subsequent conveyor system, the magnetic material is released in the run through into a separate chute.
